At VIVA PIMA!, we believe every child and family deserves to feel supported, empowered, and cared for.

Our programs provide practical resources and meaningful opportunities for children, teens, and families across Tucson and Pima County. From new school clothing and shoes to household essentials, we help our neighbors meet everyday needs, build confidence, and move forward with dignity.

Programs Supporting Youth and Families in Pima County

Each program responds to a different need, with the shared purpose of caring for our community.

VIVA PIMA! Teens: Developing Tomorrow’s Leaders

Formerly Assisteens of Tucson, our Teens program gives young people opportunities to lead and serve.

Participants elect leaders, run meetings, and organize service projects. Through this teen-led approach, they build confidence, develop leadership skills, and learn how their contributions can make a difference in their community.

VIVA PIMA! Kids: Starting School with Confidence

Previously known as Operation School Bell®, our Kids program provides new clothing, shoes, backpacks, and school supplies.

For some children, these are the first new school items they have received. Having essentials of their own helps them enter the classroom feeling prepared, proud, and ready to participate.

VIVA PIMA! Supplies: Helping Families Start Over

Formerly Starting Over Supplies, this program supports individuals and families rebuilding after homelessness, domestic violence, or other difficult circumstances.

We provide household essentials, including kitchenware and linens, to help people establish their homes as they transition into new housing.

VIVA PIMA! Support: Offering Care to Survivors

Previously the Assault Survivor Kit® Program, our Support program provides new clothing and personal items to sexual assault survivors following forensic examinations.

These resources offer practical support and help preserve dignity during a vulnerable time.

VIVA PIMA! Books: Encouraging Reading and Curiosity

Formerly Hooked on Books, our Books program works with underserved schools to bring books into classrooms, libraries, and children’s hands.

Access to books creates opportunities to explore new ideas, develop curiosity, and enjoy learning.

VIVA PIMA! Bears: Comfort for Children in Crisis

Our Bears program provides teddy bears to children facing trauma or difficult situations.

A soft stuffed animal can offer comfort and a sense of security when a child needs reassurance.

Working Together to Reach Our Neighbors

We work alongside schools, agencies, and shelters to connect children, teens, and families with support that meets their physical, emotional, and educational needs.

These partnerships help us reach people throughout Tucson and Pima County and respond with compassion and care.
