Big news, Tucson! After 65 years of serving our community as Assistance League of Tucson, we’re beginning a new chapter as VIVA PIMA!.

As of May 1, 2025, we’re officially an independent nonprofit with a fresh name, a new look, and the same commitment to helping our Pima County neighbors. Our identity has changed, but the heart behind our work remains the same.

Why Assistance League of Tucson Became VIVA PIMA!

Becoming independent gives us the opportunity to focus entirely on the needs of Tucson and Pima County. Our new name celebrates the energy, resilience, and community spirit that make this place special.

Every dollar raised through our thrift store, online shop, grants, and generous donors stays here in Pima County, supporting local children, teens, and families.

“We’re excited to have the opportunity to rebrand with an image that reflects the spirit, the vitality, and the resilience of the Pima County and the Tucson community,” said Monique Van Sickle, a member of our marketing board, in an interview with AZPM.

A Fresh Look for Familiar Community Programs

Along with our new name and logo, we’ve refreshed the identities of our programs and shop. The purpose behind each remains rooted in serving our community.

VIVA PIMA! KIDS

Our Kids program provides new uniforms or school-appropriate clothing to help children walk into the classroom with confidence.

VIVA PIMA! TEENS

Our Teens program develops future community leaders through volunteer work that encourages leadership, empowerment, and civic responsibility. Formerly known as Assisteens, this group continues to give young people meaningful ways to serve.

VIVA PIMA! SHOP

Our thrift store and online shop help fund our community programs while giving shoppers a place to discover unique treasures. Every purchase supports the work happening right here in Pima County.

Celebrating a New Chapter in Tucson

We marked this transformation with a ribbon-cutting at our thrift store on North Alvernon Way. It was a chance to celebrate our history, welcome our new identity, and thank the community that makes our work possible.

At the time of our rebrand, more than 300 volunteers contributed over 55,000 hours each year. Their dedication remains at the heart of VIVA PIMA!, bringing our mission to life through everyday acts of service.
