This past year has been one of extraordinary transformation and renewed purpose for our organization. With the official rebranding to VIVA PIMA!, we’ve embraced a bold new identity rooted in vitality, inclusivity, and commitment to the people of Pima County. As we reflect on the 2023–2024 fiscal year, we’re proud to share the measurable impacts of our programs, partnerships, and the tireless dedication of our volunteers and supporters.

A New Name, A Renewed Mission

Our transition to VIVA PIMA! was more than a name change—it was a call to action. "VIVA" celebrates life, community, and engagement. It reflects our mission to uplift lives through compassionate service and community-focused initiatives. With this new identity, we’ve expanded our vision to reach more individuals, adapt to evolving needs, and foster a stronger, more connected Southern Arizona.

By the Numbers: Highlights of Our Impact

• This year we will mark a milestone, as we will have outfitted 100,000 students in new school clothes
• Last year, we invested almost $1 million is support of our programs
• Our volunteers contributed 59,000 hours of their time last year, equal to $1.9 million as measured by the department of labor
• We worked with 113 agencies and schools in serving some 27,000 individuals in Pima County during our 2024-2025 fiscal year.

Key Program Highlights

• Preparing children for school: There are many local children who have never had new clothing to wear on the first day of school.  Last year, our Kids program provided brand new school clothes to more than 5,700 students from Title I schools.
• Providing a fresh start:  Families transitioning from shelters or the street into new homes often walk into an empty space.  Our Supplies programs provided over 3,100 families the basic essentials to set up their kitchens, bedrooms, and bathrooms.
• Fueling young minds:  Our Books program supplied 7,200+ books to local schools and community agencies, promoting reading and stimulating intellectual curiosity.
• Delivering comfort and dignity:  Our Bears and Support programs offer comfort to children in distress with cuddly Teddy Bears and restore a sense of dignity to assault survivors by providing new clothing and toiletry essentials following forensic exams.

Stories That Inspire

Behind every statistic is a story. Like 7-year-old Mia, who walked into school proudly wearing a brand-new backpack and shoes—her first ever. Or Carlos, who benefit from our Teen program, and is now studying engineering at the University of Arizona, who shared, “VIVA PIMA! believed in me before I believed in myself.”

These moments fuel our mission and remind us of the incredible power of community-driven support.

Looking Ahead

As we begin the 2025–2026 year, VIVA PIMA! is exploring new collaborative mo9dels with the schools and agencies we serve while building our volunteer base to meet growing community demand. Our commitment remains clear: to respond with empathy, act with integrity, and uplift every voice in Pima County.
