Meet Nicola Hartmann, Executive Director

Executive Director Nicola Hartmann

I am truly honored to serve as VIVA PIMA's first Executive Director! I recall numerous interactions with this organization throughout my nonprofit career, primarily through connections with the Supplies program. My most recent position was as the CEO of Sister Jose’s Women’s Center. I have also been fortunate to work with several Tucson nonprofits, including Watermark for Kids, Youth on Their Own, San Miguel High School, and Child and Family Resources.

As a long-time Tucsonan, I’m a proud University of Arizona wildcat and received my MBA from Thunderbird, the American Graduate School of International Management. Tucson has been my home for forty-plus years. I have raised my family here, including my daughter, who benefited from the Teens program. I have dedicated my career to working with nonprofits to serve our neighbors. Together, we make our community a better place to live.

Although I was familiar with VIVA PIMA! and its 65-year legacy of caring for the community, I was unaware of the organization's wide range of services, which include partnering and collaborating with over 110 schools, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations. I am inspired by the commitment of our volunteers, who generously donate thousands of hours to run every aspect of the thrift store, programs, and fundraising. It is truly inspiring.

As the first person in this role, I understand that this represents a significant change for the organization. My responsibility is to listen, learn, and support the volunteers and staff, helping us grow sustainably and make an even greater impact.

Thank you for supporting our mission. This new chapter wouldn’t happen without you, and we're excited to have you with us on this journey.

Warm Regards,

Nicola
